Top performance for winter sports and football
South Tyrol/Südtirol is synonymous with alpine expertise – and as a renowned specialist based in Bolzano/Bozen, the company Reusch combines traditional craftsmanship with innovative material technology, working closely with top athletes. What began 90 years ago as a small workshop has grown into the world’s leading brand for sports gloves. Today, Reusch manages deliveries to more than 4,000 European points of sale, as well as a global multi-channel network comprising specialist retailers and online marketplaces, via its own logistics platform. The brand thus positions itself as a key ambassador for Alpine excellence and top-class goalkeeper gloves, which set the standard worldwide.
Precision manufacturing and business milestones
The company’s success story dates back to 1934, when production of the first gloves began – entirely by hand – in the attic of the founder, Karl Reusch. A few decades later, the focus shifted to highly specialised products: In 1972, the range was expanded to include bespoke Reusch ski gloves, which were perfectly tailored to the needs of competitive athletes. This was followed shortly afterwards by a groundbreaking innovation: In close collaboration with football legend Sepp Maier, the first goalkeeper’s glove with a latex palm was developed in 1973. This pioneering spirit paved the way for an unprecedented run of success, which reached its initial peak in 2026: Spain’s first-choice goalkeeper, Unai Simón, not only won the World Cup with Reusch goalkeeper gloves, but was also awarded the Golden Glove as the tournament’s best goalkeeper.

Bolzano/Bozen as a hub for cutting-edge Alpine technology
A key milestone for the company came in 2017 with the consolidation of all strategic divisions at its headquarters in Bolzano/Bozen. From here, products are developed that are currently available in over 90 countries across six continents. In key markets such as Germany, Austria, Italy, France and Switzerland, the brand is the market leader in the winter gloves segment. Our position at the forefront of technology is secured through close partnerships with premium component manufacturers such as GORE-TEX, PrimaLoft® and Polartec®. These synergies are directly incorporated into collections for World Cup athletes such as Mikaela Shiffrin, who became the most successful female skier in history wearing Reusch ski gloves.

Precision work with strong regional roots
Whether it’s the stitching, the fabric or the fit – every detail is designed and crafted with the utmost care. Strict quality controls are just as much a priority as the responsible use of resources: Under the motto ‘We Are Taking Care’, the company focuses on selected materials and continuous improvements throughout its entire value chain. This approach also characterises the company’s location in Bolzano/Bozen: From here, Reusch manages its global success, combining regional roots with an international outlook. Erich Weitzmann, CEO of Reusch, sums it up: “The strong Alpine tradition distinguishing South Tyrol/Südtirol aligns very well with the values on which our company is founded – and at the same time serves as a powerful argument in support of our international focus.” In saying this, Reusch demonstrates how innovation, quality and a long-term outlook originating in South Tyrol/Südtirol are shaping international markets.
