Global player for alpine equipment and clothing
What do the world-famous brands Salewa, DYNAFIT, POMOCA, Wild Country and Evolv have in common? Alpine athletes worldwide rely on their technical precision, reliable functionality and sophisticated design. There is a common denominator behind all these brands: the Oberalp Group.
Its story begins in 1981 in Bolzano/Bozen. Heiner Oberrauch lays the foundations for the company with the aim of building up high-quality mountain sports brands and positioning them internationally. Today, the Oberalp Group is a family-run management company and one of the leading international players in the mountain sports equipment sector - with a strong portfolio of specialised brands under one roof.
Specialised material expertise for mountain sports
For ski touring, mountaineering, climbing or mountain biking - the right equipment and clothing emerge from a clear attitude to meeting the demands of the alpine environment. Companies from South Tyrol, such as the Oberalp Group, are exemplary of this alpine expertise: their products withstand extreme conditions, combine comfort with safety and at the same time fulfil high aesthetic demands. This quality is systematic. It is based on sound material and technological expertise, which is combined with a deep understanding of the different areas of application for outdoor clothing and equipment. This results in innovative solutions that are precisely tailored to the needs of users.
One example of this is the LaMunt brand, which is also part of the Oberalp Group. It was developed entirely in-house in 2022 and opens up a new perspective on the mountain: a consistently female one. "With LaMunt, we have created the first brand that is conceived entirely from a woman's perspective," says Ruth Oberrauch, Vice President of the Oberalp Group and founder. The focus is on specific requirements for functional clothing for women in the alpine environment.

Tradition and responsibility
The example of LaMunt also demonstrates the cultural bedrock. The name comes from the Ladin and means "the mountain". In this way, the brand emphasises its connection to the Alpine region - and its responsibility towards the environment and society.
This responsibility is taken into account consistently at Oberalp: from the design phase to the selection of materials and the entire supply chain. The company has been a member of the Fair Wear Foundation since 2013 and is actively committed to fair working conditions. With the annual sustainability report "Contribute", which has been published since 2018, Oberalp provides transparency on targets and progress. This is how origin becomes attitude - and alpine roots become a responsibility that has an impact far beyond the mountains.
