Founded in Bruneck in 1986 by Joseph Franz, the company’s origins can be traced back to a deeply personal story: Following a severe knee injury, Joseph was looking for alternative therapies, studied herbalism, and found the foundations of his work in the plant world. From this pioneering spirit, the first few natural essences were born—at a time when the world gave little attention to sustainability and natural cosmetics.
These days, the family business is run by his children Fabian, Viktor, and Lena Franz. With their various backgrounds in architecture, economics, and philosophy, they see the company from a variety of perspectives. Together, they combine decades of spa expertise and innovative research. The certified organic natural cosmetics are produced in their own laboratory in Bruneck, where plant-based ingredients are refined using biotechnological processes. Natural hyaluronic acid, produced from yeast fermentation, or rosemary extract, which is rich in antioxidative polyphenols, are just two examples of the deliberate combination of plant-based raw materials with biotechnological processes in order to optimise effectiveness, stability, and bioavailability.
Spa excellence driven by innovative research
The company focuses on the professional sector: TEAM DR JOSPEH can mainly be found in premium spa hotels and selected cosmetics institutes throughout Europe. Products and treatments are always offered together, and they are not available on a drugstore shelf—only from trained professionals.
The raw materials are sourced from regions where the respective plants are indigenous, so they can unleash their full power: argan oil from Morocco, lavender oil from France, mountain pine oil from South Tyrol, complemented by clinically tested active ingredients backed up by international research.
Fabian Franz says it best: “There are many hip brands offering a couple of products. But there are only a few companies offering such a wide product range and with such a decades-long spa competence.” Consistency, passion, and the courage to think outside the box have been essential for TEAM DR JOSEPH to this day—and shall remain its foundation for decades to come.
